It all started in 2005, with an idea that potentially could make a tremendous impact on the everyday lives of women with stress urinary incontinence (SUI):
-What if one could apply the principles behind the most common surgical solutions to SUI, without having to perform the actual surgery?
As a result, Invent Medic Sweden (IMS) was formed with the objective to develop a device women could use to manage stress urinary incontinence (SUI) and work began.
Fast forward to 2018 and here we are. After several rounds of development, the project is in its final stretch. The clinical trial of the device has just been completed and we will soon be able to present the results. After this we will complete the regulatory requirements, then finally we can show it to the the world and launch our first product!
And as exciting as that is, the journey we have taken with this particular product has also laid the ground for so much more.
Based on feedback from women of all ages (both with and without SUI,) health care professionals, as well as our own medical- and market research, we have gained comprehensive insights into how we might better solve challenges to women’s everyday health on a broader scale. In combining clinical methods with human centered design principles, we have formed a unique and holistic approach to problem solving and product development that prioritizes reliability, functionality and emotional aspects equally.
From this platform and through the brand Arcamea, we aspire to bring forward a portfolio of products and solutions that target underserved health needs women have around the world.
